Your Guide to Super Bowl Weekend in L.A.!

The Super Bowl, the crowning event of the National Football League, is this Sunday, but there are numerous related events planned throughout the Los Angeles area. The Super Bowl Experience is open at the L.A. Convention Center Thursday through Saturday.

When & Where: The Super Bowl returns to Southern California for the first time since 2003. The Rams will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Feb. 13 at SoFi Stadium at 3:30 p.m. PT, with the game airing on the NBC network. Coverage begins at 9 a.m. PT.

The matchup: The Rams will look to avenge their Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots in 2019, while the Bengals return for the first time since 1989. As of Monday evening, the Rams were a consensus 4/12 point favorite, according to Las Vegas sports books.

The Rams: Led by veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford (formerly with the Detroit Lions), who has never played in an NFL championship game. Of the 61 players who saw action during the Rams’ 2018 season, only 12 are still with the team. The Rams lost to the New England Patriots in that last Super Bowl appearance.

The Bengals: Cincinnati’s head coach Zac Taylor moved from his position as the Rams’ quarterback coach to the Bengals following the Ram’s Super Bowl appearance in 2019. Quarterback and 2019 Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, in his second season with the Bengals, has turned the once-boring Bengals into the coolest team in the NFL.

Home game advantage: While the Rams are not the official home team, they’ll have the advantage of playing on their home field, only the second team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium.  SoFi Stadium is prepping, and security details are going all out for the game on Sunday. Expect this weekend’s weather to soar into the mid-80s–a bit warm for the players, but the fans will love it, if they remember the sun screen (and viewers in colder climes are likely to start packing their bags).

Entertainment: The Super Bowl halftime show will represent Southern California with an all-star rap/R&B lineup of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.

ESPN at the Disneyland Resort

When: Feb. 9-13

Where: Disneyland Resort, 1313 Disneyland Drive,  Anaheim

Cost: Park admission for events inside Disney California Adventure, free to attend Downtown Disney events.

Details: Disneyland is teaming up with ESPN for a week-long celebration that will include pregame telecasts and events at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

Theme park ticket holders can see the ESPN Super Bowl broadcast center on the World of Color viewing area on Paradise Bay at Disney California Adventure from  Feb. 9-13. That’s where the station will broadcast segments of its “SportsCenter,” “NFL Live,” “Postseason NFL Countdown” and “NFL Matchup” shows.

And just outside DCA, the Super Bowl Fan Experience will happen in Downtown Disney from 1-7 p.m. Feb. 10-13. It will include free games and giveaways happening  in the esplanade between Tortilla Jo’s and Splitsville Luxury Lanes.

The Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest

When: Feb. 10-12

Where: Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center), 1111 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles

Cost: Tickets start at $50

Details: The Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest will take over the arena Feb. 10-12, featuring three days of music begins Feb. 10 with Halsey and Machine Gun Kelly headlining. On Feb. 11, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani take the stage along with Mickey Guyton, the latter whom will perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl. And the musical weekend closes the day before the big game with performances by Green Day and Miley Cyrus.
