Nona Hendryx Gets Real With LGBT Hollywood at Jazz Fest
LGBT Hollywood brings us Nona Hendryx at the annual Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival, held for the first time in October. The talented singer talks to West Hollywood’s own Renee Sotile and Mary Jo Godges during the annual musical event that attracts top female performers, including Hendryx, Diane Shuur, Terri Lyne Carrington, Mimi Jones, Tia Fuller, Perla Batella, Carol Chaikin, Pamela Williams, Susie Hanson, Mimi Fox, and many more, along with host-artistic director and world-renowned talent Sweet Baby J’ai.
The Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival, from event promoters Lucy and Gail, covers all genres of jazz, from Latin jazz, Blues, and smooth jazz to the more traditional.
For 10 years Lucy and Gail have been affiliated with the annual Dinah event in the spring, under the title of Dinah in Color.
“Dinah in Color has been replaced with a more encompassing title that encourages all women, lesbians, lesbians of color and jazz lovers to come to Palm Springs to enjoy a wonderful weekend of jazz music,” according to the promoters.
