Velvet Revolver is Gearing Up
Velvet Revolver is a new supergroup composed of ex-Guns N’ Roses members’ Slash, Duff McCagan, Matt Sorum and powered by the vocals of Scott Weiland, former lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots. They recorded their first song “Set Me Free” for the Hulk soundtrack, which harkens back to the hard, take-no-prisoners sound of Appetite for Destruction. They recently performed a small concert in Los Angeles. The live recording will be released as an EP this fall with a new studio recording, which will be their first official single. They have plans to release a full album by the end of the year. All of this is great news for Guns N’ Roses’ fans, who have been waiting a decade for new material. Axl Rose is the only original member in the new Guns N’ Roses and he’s been working on an album called “Chinese Democracy” for the last decade. Will it ever be released? No one knows and many people are getting tired of waiting.
Velvet Revolver is giving fans what they want: some new music and live performances. They plan to play a couple dates in Los Angeles near the end of the summer before going on a bigger tour after the album is released. Velvet Revolver is the next best thing to a full Guns ‘N Roses reunion which will never happen, so get ready, the new band is ready to rock.
