The GLAAD Wrap: ‘City of Bones’ opens, new music from Elton John and more! | GLAAD

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap ings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend. Here are a few entertainment updates they covered this week.

1) The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, the film adaptation of the first in Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series, opened in theaters this week. The film follows Clary, a teenage girl who learns that she is a part of a hidden universe of Shadowhunters, half-angel warriors who protect our world from demons. GLAAD has a trailer on their page below.

2) Out actor Andrew Rannells returns to HBO’s Girls in the third season to premiere in 2014. His character Elijah, Hannah’s gay ex-boyfriend who is now questioning his sexuality, was originally written out to allow Rannells to film NBC’s now cancelled The New Normal. GLAAD provides a trailer of it at the link below.

3) Jane Lynch’s NBC game show Hollywood Game Night from executive producer Sean Hayes has been renewed for a second season. The series has two teams of four competing against each other with each team consisting of one regular person and three celeities. Some of these season’s guests have included Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth and Amy Poehler. This looks like a total win for NBC!
