The City of West Hollywood and LA Weekly are presenting the 2nd Annual West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the West Hollywood Park at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. The fair begins at 10am and festivities last until twilight at 7pm. Admission is free.

Some of today’s most popular writers and celebrity guests will be there to meet and greet their fans and other associates, sign books and participate in the poetry salon, which features slam poetry and spoken word. The list of more than 150 authors and artists include Jan Burke, Carol Channing, Nora Dunn, Trey Ellis, Heidi Fleiss, Cristina Garcia, Arianna Huffington, Leslie Jordan, Michael Kearns, Martin Landau, Kelly Lange, Christopher Rice and many more.

Booths will feature local independent bookstores, literary organizations and local publishers. There’s even a children’s stage and storytelling, which opens the event to the entire family!

Parking is free at the Pacific Design Center, across from the West Hollywood park. There will also be an eclectic assortment of cuisine available at the book fair, at reasonable prices.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the growing literary scene in West Hollywood,” said writer Mickel A. Paris, author of a book of poetry Seasons of Unrequited Love, of which A Different Light Bookstore in West Hollywood was the first to carry. Paris’ new serial soap drama Metrosexuals, will premiere on GoWEHO.com November 31, 2003, which is National Coming Out Day. “What I like most about this book fair is its easy accessibility for fans and authors, alike. Book fairs which combine diversity with local flavor are always a treat for people like me.”
