Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution Tour Update
Proving once again that it’s all for the fans, organizers for the third annual PROJEKT REVOLUTION TOUR are offering ticket buyers to any of the 32 tour dates this summer a free sampler download.
Because the PROJEKT REVOLUTION TOUR is about bringing together different styles of music, the sampler is comprised of audio tracks from 13 distinctive artists and is a mix of various genres of music from rock to hip hop to punk. Bands featured on the sampler include Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, Helmet, Thrice, Ghostface, Less Than Jake, M.O.P. and more. “We wanted our fans to not only hear the bands on the tour, but some other bands that we like,” says Chester Bennington, vocalist for Linkin Park. “We worked to give everyone something special, songs that they may not hear anywhere else.” Created by Machine Shop Marketing, the sampler features new, live and rare tracks from these artists on the tour and like-minded bands.
Machine Shop Marketing continues to bring music to fans in new and innovative ways, emphasizing the importance of the relationship between the artist and their fans as it has done with every aspect of Linkin Park. “I feel that our Projekt Revolution sampler download is the perfect vehicle to promote artists and new music to an audience that embraces the musical diversity that the Projekt Revolution tour represents,” says Jessica Bardas, COO of Machine Shop Marketing.
Ticket holders will go to www.PRsampler.com or www.linkinpark.com and enter the information printed on their physical tickets to gain exclusive access to the download. The sampler downloads in the form of a player, with all of the audio embedded in the player. Along with the tracks, there is also enhanced content — band bios, links, photos, and video content — that corresponds with each of the sampler’s artists.
The 2004 PROJEKT REVOLUTION TOUR kicks off in Cincinnati, OH on July 23rd and will hit 32 cities before concluding Sept 5th in Mountain View, CA. News of the sampler comes after last week’s announcement about the “Revolution Village” (a series of interactive exhibits from the tour’s event partners) and the line-up for the Revolution Stage (Ghostface, Funeral For A Friend, M.O.P. and downset, along with No Warning, Instruction, Autopilot Off, who will be joining on for small regional stints). These bands join Linkin Park and multi-platinum acts Korn, rap icon Snoop Dogg who will headline the main stage along with up and comers the Used and punk rockers Less Than Jake.
