Who’s Who of LA’s Trendsetting Fashion Community Recognized at the 2006 LA Fashion Awards

Fashion forward Angelos gathered Friday, October 20th at the Orpheum Theater for LA’s exclusive fashion industry event recognizing the best and brightest fashion design, branding and merchandising talents based in Southern California. The 2006 LA Fashion Awards concluded Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion week for press and previews.

The Saturn-sponsored event kicked-off with a cocktail reception that hosted some of Hollywood’s elite and trendy fashion designers including actress Lisa Edelstein, Pharrell Williams Ice Cream model Terry Kennedy, designer Uriel Saenz, and Joe Jean’s founder, Joe Dahan. Actress Lauren Holly and television personality Jon Kelley served as the emcees for the evening.

The highlights included runway shows by Moss Adams Fashion Innovator Award nominees, Juan Carlos Obando, Rozae Nichols, and Society of Ration Dress. The critically acclaimed collection by Collection bebe won the Marketing Excellence Award. Also, the unique vintage haute-couture boutique Decades and Decades Two owners Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos walked away with the Fashion Retailer Award. Actress Michelle Trachtenberg donned a navy satin cocktail dress by Monique Lhullier and presented the designer with the 2006 Wells Fargo Century Fashion Achievement Award. “She knows how to dress a woman and brings New York style to LA”. Nony Tocherman founder of Petro Zilla boutique in LA and winner of 2005 Mossi exclaimed “Fashion is LA is no longer second to New York. LA has its own unique style!”
