KCET Plans Pride Month Programming for June

KCET honors Pride Month with special programming throughout June. The lineup begins on Wednesday, with the inspiring documentary “United in Anger,” and follows with films that cover activism, arts, history, culture and identity.

UNITED IN ANGER
Wednesday, June 10, at 9 p.m. on KCET (Link TV nationwide DirecTV Channel 375 and Dish Network Channel 9410.)
An inspiring documentary about the AIDS activist movement told from the perspective of the people who began fighting the epidemic. Available to stream online at http://www.kcet.org and http://www.linktv.org following the broadcast.

CAMPAIGN
Friday, June 12, at 10 p.m. on KCET
A passionate belief in equality puts ordinary people in the midst of the political firestorm that was the campaign to defeat California’s Proposition 8.

THE DAY IT SNOWED IN MIAMI
Wednesday, June 17, at 10 p.m. on KCET
An equal-rights statute in Miami galvanized the gay rights movement in Florida and beyond. The 90-minute documentary also chronicles the tragic effects of AIDS in South Florida and the ironic, compassionate turn in public opinion towards the gay community.

ANYONE AND EVERYONE
Friday, June 26, 10 p.m. on KCET
Stories of families in Utah, North Carolina, Wyoming and New York are connected by a common thread – a gay child. This documentary by Susan Polis Schutz depicts a wide range of religions, nationalities, and political leanings.
