Karmin, Pepper MaShay and Martha Reeves Highlight Palm Springs Pride 2012
Update from Palm Springs Pride on 11/1: Karmin has canceled their appearance at Palm Springs Pride on Nov. 4. Amy Heidemann’s voice is gone and she’s on strict vocal rest. The entertainment schedule will be adjusted and we send Amy lots of Rainbow glitter and get well wishes.
If you’re heading to the desert for the annual Palm Springs Pride this weekend, here are some highlights to look for:
On Friday the Pride Honors at the Hyatt will honor Rev. Troy Perry, among others, followed by the Pride Festival Saturday and Sunday at Sunrise Park. The festival offers ongoing entertainment, including Karmin, Pepper MaShay and Martha Reeves, along with dance tents, exhibitors, food and the Authors’ Village.
Also on Saturday is the Frontrunners 12th annual Pride Run-Walk from the high school at 8 a.m., and the Arenas Block Party, a free street party with music, food and dancing from 6-11 p.m. in Downtown Palm Springs.
The Human Rights Campaign hosts its 13th annual Garden Party on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 3-6 p.m. at Abernathy House, a private mid-century estate. Get more info at: hrc.org/psgardenparty or call: (760) 864-1494 or see [email protected]
On Sunday at 10 a.m., the Pride Parade gets underway down Palm Canyon Drive.
