Juliet Set to Electrify Audiences as Opening Act for Duran Duran
Virgin Recording artist Juliet has been selected to open several U.S. and Canadian dates on Duran Duran’s hugely successful “Astronaut” arena tour. Juliet is set to begin firing up audiences on March 30.
For the last several weeks, Juliet has been galvanizing the U.S. and U.K. club scenes with her hauntingly propulsive hit “Avalon.” Stateside, the song, produced by one of the U.K.’s hottest producers, Stuart Price — aka remixer Jacques Lu Cont — currently resides at #1 on the Billboard Club Play Chart. The track’s mesmerizing sound is also winning over mix-show DJs around the country, garnering major-market airplay in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Sacramento and Las Vegas.
In the U.K., “Avalon” recently reached #1 on the all-important DMC Buzz Chart, the weekly listing of the hottest new club tracks compiled by DMC — publisher of U.K. dance/club world bibles MixMag and Update — with information from leading DJs and music retailers. The Buzz Chart is broadcast each week on “The Essential Selection,” the influential dance-music show hosted by Peter Tong, one of Britain’s leading DJs, every Friday evening on the BBC’s Radio 1.
“Avalon” also reached #1 on the “Cool Cuts Chart,” the leading tastemaker dance chart published in Music Week every week and broadcast on Kiss FM, the U.K.’s biggest pure-dance music radio station.
If the astonishing success of “Avalon” is any indication, Juliet will be amassing thousands of new fans at each upcoming tour stop.
