Hilary Swank, Max Burkholder, Margaret O’Brien Support Actors Fund Awards
Hilary Swank will bestow the Parenting Award on her mother, Judy, at the Actors Fund’s Looking Ahead Awards, honoring the top leaders in the young performer community at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Max Burkholder (“Parenthood”) will receive the Looking Ahead Social Awareness Award presented by Jason Katims; Tia Mowry (“Instant Mom”) and Tamera Mowry (“The Real”) will receive the Looking Ahead Education Award presented by Jackée Harry; and Academy Award® winner Margaret O’Brien is slated to receive the Shirley Temple Award.
The Actors Fund’s Looking Ahead program was created in 2003 in partnership with SAG-AFTRA to work with young performers between the ages of 9 and 18, helping them develop the values, skills and confidence they need to make successful transitions to fulfilling adult lives. The honorees are leaders in the entertainment community who live the program’s core values of growth, education, leadership and community service.
Looking Ahead is co-chaired by Fred Savage, a former young performer (“The Wonder Years”) turned director/producer, and Sharon Lieblein, a freelance casting director and former head of casting at Nickelodeon.
Looking Ahead Awards on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, begin at 6:30 pm at the Taglyan Complex,1201 Vine St., Los Angeles. Tickets are $75-$300 and include dinner. Sponsorship packages begin at $2,500.
