Cyndi Lauper and Belinda Carlisle Will Perform at LA Pride 2003

By  |

Both Cyndi Lauper and Belinda Carlisle will perform at LA Pride 2003 in June. This is a surprise, because usually LA Pride has the small musical acts that most people haven’t heard of while SF Pride has the bigger acts like the B-52’s, Venga Boys, Dead or Alive and Margaret Cho.

Cyndi Lauper is scheduled to play Saturday, June 21st on the main stage, followed by Belinda Carlisle on June 22nd. If you haven’t seen Cindi recently, here’s your chance. She is amazing performer and on the road to a major comeback with new songs, like “Shine,” that are just as good as the best of her 80s material. Cindi puts on a great show and will dazzle you with her powerful voice.

I saw Belinda Carlisle last month and she puts on a low-key, fun performance and since she hasn’t toured much in the last 12 years as a solo artist, this would be a good way for fans to hear her music. You’ll get to hear her hits like “Mad About You,” “Leave a Light On,” “Heaven Is a Place on Earth,” and most likey a Go-Go’s song thrown in for good measure.

Another act who will play that I’m very excited about is Janice Robinson of Livin’ Joy who had two big dance hits in the mid-nineties “Dreamer” and “Don’t Stop Movin’.”
