Award-Winning ‘Lyle’ Streaming Online for Free

Gaby Hoffmann won best actor at Outfest for her role in “Lyle.” Starting today the film is streaming online for free at LYLEmovie.com, to draw attention to the Kickstarter campaign for “Putney,” the second of three female-focused horror film from the Stewart Thorndike and Alex Scharfman.

“Lyle” is director Thorndike’s sinister ode to “Rosemary’s Baby.” She and producing partner Scharfman hope to “fill the large void of horror/genre films directed by women,” she said.

To bring awareness to “Putney,” which Stewart describes as “a haunted ‘TEDTalk,’” they decided to share “Lyle” for free instead of following traditional distribution strategies.

“Lyle,” for which Hoffman won Hoffmann won the Grand Jury Best Actress Award for her electrifying performance as Leah, a pregnant lesbian confronted by an unspeakable evil, debuted to much critical praise last month at the 2014 Outfest Film Festival.
