The Beverly Hills Film Festival opens today, April 13, 2026, and runs through April 19, at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. The festival ends with an awards night gala at the Beverly Hilton, 9876 Wilshire Blvd., on Sunday.

Tonight’s schedule includes “Sock It To Me: The Legend of George Schlatter,” a film by Chris Coronado. Screening at 6:25 p.m. The documentary chronicles the six-decade career of pioneering producer, director, and writer George Schlatter, the creative force behind “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.”

Schlatter revolutionized television comedy with rapid-fire satire and enduring catchphrases that reshaped American pop culture.

He later broke new ground again with “Real People,” anticipating the rise of modern reality programming. Featuring candid interviews with Lily Tomlin, Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, and others, the film explores Schlatter’s lasting influence on comedy, television, and the cultural conversation.

Kevin James and Christina Ricci star in the action comedy “Guns Up,” Monday at 6:55 p.m. The Edward Drake film follows a cop moonlighting as an enforcer for the mob, who learns he’s not the most dangerous member of his family.

Then at 8:05 p.m., “Beyond the Border: Latino Representation in Hollywood,” is a documentary from directors-producers Clara and Julia Kuperberg. With a cast includes John Leguizamo, Jimmy Smits, Esai Morales, Jose Zuniga, Gregory Nava, and Patricia Riggen, the film traces a century-long struggle for Latino representation, showing how artists reclaimed their image and reshaped cinema.
