Jessica & Hunter Host Prom: A Night Out for Trevor on May 31
YouTube favorites Jessica and Hunter will host Prom: A Night Out for Trevor, on Saturday, May 31, featuring performances by singer/songwriter Eli Lieb (Young Love), and Shangela, a RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite.
The 20-something Jessica and Hunter describe themselves as “BFF’s/professional cocktail drinkers/celeb-stalkers/fashionistas/media-whores,” meaning you’ll either think they’re the coolest combo since John and Katie, or you’ll be hyper-motivated to stay in school and get a diploma.
Prom is a fundraiser put on by Trevor NextGen, a group of up-and-coming activists supporting the work of Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ people 24 and younger.
“In one spectacular evening, we seek to create a prom experience that many members of the LGBT community have never had,” say Adam Hunt and Grant Sloss, Trevor NextGen LA co-chairs. “Discrimination, ridicule and harassment have caused many LGBTQ teens and adults to associate this iconic school event with pain, loneliness and heartbreak. A Night Out for Trevor provides a second chance to enjoy this memorable milestone with love, support and pride.”
The Prom will take place on the rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum, 6060 Wilshire Blvd. For tickets go to: TheTrevorProject.org/Prom2014.
