Sid & Marty Krofft’s sci-fi classic is available for the first time together on DVD. A sudden earthquake sent the Marshall family back to the days of the dinosaurs, and now you can revisit the past with Rhino Home Video’s release of “Land of the Lost” — Seasons 1, 2 & 3. The complete series debuts on DVD just days after Universal Pictures announces that it has acquired screen rights to “Land of the Lost” and will develop it for the big screen as a starring vehicle for Will Ferrell.

Each super-groovy DVD captures the classic adventures of Rick Marshall and his two children, Will and Holly, as they discover what life is like with dinosaurs as their new neighbors.

Each season includes a deluxe DVD set with all original broadcast episodes, plus exclusive interviews, brand-new commentary by creators Sid and Marty Krofft, commentary by “Land of the Lost” cast and crew and much more. Rediscover prehistoric creatures, Chaka, the monkey boy and the dreaded Sleestaks, if you dare!

One of the most innovative children’s shows ever on television, and also a remarkably satisfying science fiction series, “Land of the Lost” is about the adventures of the Marshall family in a strange and alternate world populated by dinosaurs, hostile reptilian humanoids known as Sleestaks, and other creatures.

Brothers Sid & Marty Krofft have been producing quality family entertainment for over 30 years. The fifth generation in a line of puppeteers, Sid & Marty became a household name in the ’70s with a series of remarkable programs that featured elaborate sets and fanciful characters. “HR Pufnstuf” was the first in a long line of beloved programs created by the Kroffts, including “The Bugaloos,” “Lidsville,” “Land of the Lost,” “Far Out Space Nuts,” “Lost Saucer,” “The Krofft Supershow Hour,” “The Bay City Rollers Show,” “Wonderbug” and “Bigfoot & Wildboy.” The Kroffts’ success with Saturday morning television prompted a demand for them to produce prime-time programming. They produced various prime-time series and specials, including “The Brady Bunch Hour,” “The Donny & Marie Show” and “Barbara Mandrell & The Mandrell Sisters.”
