TCM Honors Shirley MacLaine at Star-Studded Film Festival

TCM Film Festival honoree Shirley MacLaine will be joined by Sophia Loren, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Morse, Spike Lee, Peter Fonda and other screen stars at the 2015 TCM Film Festival, March 26-29 in Hollywood.

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, co-stars in “The Sound of Music” (1965), will attend the 50th Anniversary opening night presentation that includes a screening of the film.
CHILDRENS-HOURsmall Celebrating 60 years as a film actor, MacLaine will talk about her long career at “Club TCM” at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, home to the original Academy Awards ceremony.

The festival theme is History According to Hollywood, and includes panels featuring Tony Mendez, Aron Ralston and Mark Schultz, whose real-life stories were told in “Argo” (2012), “127 Hours” (2010) and “Foxcatcher” (2014).

MacLain will also appear at screenings of two of her groundbreaking films: Billy Wilder’s “The Apartment” (1960), which earned her an Oscar nomination, and William Wyler’s “The Children’s Hour” (1961), for which she received a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for playing a teacher accused of lesbianism.

The legendary Sophia Loren will be interviewed by TCM host Robert Osborne and participate in a screening of “Marriage Italian Style” (1964), and actor Dustin Hoffman will sit down with Alec Baldwin after a screening of “Lenny” (1974). Veteran entertainer Ann-Margret will appear at a screening of “The Cincinnati Kid” (1973).

Spike Lee will present a screening of “Malcolm X” (1992), and Capt. James Lovell will be on hand for the 20th Anniversary world premiere restoration of “Apollo 13” (1995).

Other actors slated to attend include Robert Morse at a screening of “The Loved One” (1965) and George Lazenby at a screening of “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969).

Peter Fonda will participate in a tribute to his father, Henry Fonda, attending screenings of two films directed by John Ford, “Young Mr. Lincoln” (1939), and the 1946 Western “My Darling Clementine.”
